Cancelations due to weather are made no later than 1 and 1/2 hours before games or practices.  Example:  If a practice begins at 5:30 p.m. a decision will be made by 4:00 p.m.

Cancelations are communicated in a variety of ways.  The primary source of information will be given through the Gaston United Website.

Modes of communication for cancelations are:

1.  Website at www.gastonunitedsoccer.org

2.  Email through guscdirector@yahoo.com

3.  Email to coaches

4.  We will try to reach coaches by phone as well if possible.

5.  Weather hotline phone number which is 704-823-1778.

If you do not hear or see anything with the above communication just assume the team team is practicing or playing the game.

*Sometimes weather may occur at the start of the game or practice, therefore a decision will be made at the practice or game site. A decision may be left up to the coach at that time.  Absolutely no practicing when lightning.  Teams must wait 30 minutes after the last lightning strike before continuing to practice.

Games will not be canceled due to light rain or drizzle within a couple of hours of practices or games.
