Our coaching staff is comprised of a group of dedicated professionals, many of whom possess National licenses issued by the USSF and NSCAA. A number of our coaches currently coach at the collegiate level, and/or have played collegiate and professional soccer. Please see assignment and bios below.

STAFF BIOS:
JARRETTE BRATHWAITE
Brathwaite coached GUSC’s 96 Boys Blue team in 2010 to the Premier title, which qualified them for Region III play. They’re endeavoring to win a state, regional and national championship this year.
JEFF PHILLIPS
Phillips joined GUSC in the spring of 2010, heading up its Recreational division. He starts as Academy in the fall of 2011. He will continue to run Rec.
JOHN KELLY
Kelly joined GUSC last fall, coaching in Rec. He has two sons in the club, and will assist Phillips in the Academy.
DAVID SHEARER
A longtime member -- and a former director of operations -- Shearer returned to GUSC as a coach in Rec (as the U9 Boys coordinator). Shearer will take over coaching duties of Coach Stefan’s U11 Boys Classic team -- starting late February, after Coach Stefan’s resignation.
TATUM BOURQUE
A former All American at Belmont Abbey College, Bourque is entering his 10th season at GUSC. The Director of Coaching for GUSC’s girls program, Bourque coaches the U16 Girls in the Fall and the U16 Boys in the Spring.
ANNA DONALDSON
A former goalkeeper on Belmont Abbey College’s women’s team and entering her fourth year with GUSC, Donaldson will coach the U9 and U10 Girls Academy.
PHILLIP GOODRUM
Goodrum coached for several clubs in the Charlotte area. This is his second year with GUSC; he’ll coach the U15 Boys Blue team.
STEFAN NADZAM
This is Nadzam’s second semester with GUSC. He coaches the 99 BOYS BLUE and 00 BOYS BLUE -- and will do so through February. Originally from Czechoslovakia, Nadzam played competitively from age 10, Coach Stefan is leaving the club to pursue a career as a certifed K-9 dog trainer. Coach Patrick Sery will replace him.
SETH LOWTHER
In his fourth year with GUSC, the former goalie at Belmont Abbey College will continue to run point on goalkeeper training as well as coach the U13 Boys Blue team.
JONATHAN REED
Having been with GUSC for a decade, the Englishman will coach GUSC’s U13 and U14 Boys teams while continuing to serve as GUSC’s Director of Tournaments.
DIEGO F. ROMERO
As one of the founding members of the club, Romero has two sons in the club. A former coach in the club, Romero will return to the sidelines as coach of the U15 Boys White team.
BRITTNEY BOYLE
Boyle has been affiliated with GUSC since 2007 when she coached a U12 Girls team. The Queens University of Charlotte grad (who played collegiately there) has coached club soccer at various levels for six years. Boyle, who is also the head coach for Gaston Day School’s middle school girls team, will coach GUSC’s U15 Girls.
